The Summa Story
Summa Financial Technology was founded in 2017 by senior executives from Advent Software. Our mission is to deliver transformational technology for the modern investment management firm.
The name Summa originates from the book Summa de arithmetica, geometria, proportioni et proportionalita written by Luca Pacioli in 1494 which was the first published description of double entry accounting. Many of the subsequent developments and standardization of professional accounting methods originated from this work. Considered by many as the father of accounting, Pacioli is also credited with the axiom “a person should not go to sleep at night until the debits equal the credits”.

Founder/CEO
Chris Momsen is the founder and CEO of Summa. Mr. Momsen enjoyed a 20-year career with Advent Software where he led product strategy, partnerships, acquisitions, sales and relationship management as EVP of Sales and Solutions Management.
Tom Zdon
Chief Product Officer
Our Product team is led by Tom Zdon, former SVP of Solutions Management at Advent Software where he ran product management and presales for Geneva and Advent’s cloud initiatives.
Robert Morris
Chief Technical Officer
Our Engineering team is led by Robert Morris, former CTO of Stark Investments LLC. Bob oversaw the development of a complete multi asset class front to back office platform for Stark.
